well ive been on a bit of a hiatus as it seems. the holidays are always horribly busy for me. and to add to the fun. my father-in-law had a stroke the monday before Christmas and is finally getting to come home friday. so maybe this week ill actually update a blog or two. maybe not.

people say i need to exercise some, i say i get enough exercise jumping to conclusions and flying off the handle.

i read a story earlier today, and when i had time to write about it. of course, now i cant find it, so you will have to forgive me on some things because im going by memory. a guy who works at jiffy lube won the right to take the company to court over its grooming policy. their policy states that you must be clean shaven and it said something about hair, but i dont know the specifics. he is 'rastafarian' and claims its against his religion to cut his hair or shave. fine. i have no problem with that. what i have a problem with is the repeated cases where one lone judge decides something. he shouldnt have to accept the grooming policy of the place he works. they should have to accept him. if this isnt blatant abuse of discrimination i dont know what is. since when do workers tell the owners what to do. this whole country is running itself backwards. if you have a company that employs 500 people. and 499 get along just fine. and one has problem. you dont turn everything upside down for that one person. it doesnt make sense. it never will. this used to be a country of the majority. now its a country of one person and a good lawyer. im tired of it. im tired of being told i have to accept the way these people act and not be allowed to even say i dont like it. ridiculous

United Auto Workers: Union Will Restart Contract Talks With Big 3 Car Manufacturers

DETROIT — DEVELOPING STORY:

A United Auto Workers official says the union has agreed to restart contract talks with the Detroit Three automakers and delay their payments into a union-run health care trust.

The official, who asked not to be identified because the details had not been publicly announced, also said the union will take steps to eliminate the jobs bank in which laid-off workers are paid most of their salaries.

The CEOs of all three automakers are heading to Washington for congressional hearings this week on their request for a total of $34 billion in government loans to help them weather a recession and the worst auto sales climate in 26 years.

Congressional leaders have demanded business plans from all three that include a reduction in labor costs so Detroit is more competitive with foreign automakers with U.S. factories.

perhaps, the unions have finally realized what a cancer they are by sucking every last little nickel and penny out of companies they can. maybe they will be lucky enough to dissolve the unions altogether. unions had a place in our economy at a point. now like everything else, abuse their power to get what they dont deserve. down with the unions.

lane kiffin is the new coach at tennessee. i feel sorry for him. its gonna take alot of work to get tennessee back to a national power. more so than people think. the list of elite or as i call them gravy jobs in ncaa football arent coming open anytime soon. southern cal, oklahoma, texas, florida, miami, ohio state are all gravy jobs when it comes to recruiting. the best athletes in your states usually stay there. except oklahoma which gets most of its players from texas. best of luck to you.

once again, the fate of the national championship is being decided by inanimate objects and not by people. Its not so much the bcs this year as it is the big 12 conference. The big 12 title game will consist of missouri vs oklahoma. what is the common thread between these two teams. they both lost to texas. so the 1 team that beat both these teams. wont win the conference because of computers. dumbfounded.

once again, tech doesnt disappoint. get them away from their friendly home field, in a tough game. and watch them fold. not just fold. i think they didnt even bother to make the trip up there. so now we have a log jam in the big 12 south of who is worthy of going.

texas beat oklahoma by 10
tech beat texas by 6
oklahoma beat tech by 44.

i would think it was safe to say, that everyone thinks tech is out. after that kinda of performance. then it comes down to texas and ou. i keep hearing about ou's non conference schedule of cincinatti and tcu. which are very good non-conference opponents. but people seem to forget. As bad as ou embarrassed tech. texas did the same thing to missouri. who is by the way. the big 12 north champion. with records and head to heads and all things considered. advantages go to texas. but with the medias love affair with all things ou and usc. i bet someone that never watches football votes ou ahead of texas. how people get ranked ahead of you, when you have the same record, after you beat them is ridiculous. and tech fans can say what they want. after your performance against ou. you need to go back to 3rd best team in the conference and keep quiet. you wont be there very long after leach leaves.

the big game of the weekend has me torn as to who to root for. i would have to say that i equally dislike each team. maybe OU a little bit more. but its pretty much a push. if OU wins, Texas will more than likely get to go to the big 12 championship. however if Tech wins. it would take a tech loss in the big 12 title game for texas to have a shot at the title. and i hate backing into a national championship game. they way nebraska did it, and oklahoma as well. and if history proves anything, both times. they lost. 37-14 Miami beat Nebraska. 55-19 USC beat Oklahoma.

UNITED NATIONS — The U.N. Security Council unanimously agrees to impose new sanctions against Somalia aimed at stopping its booming pirate trade and lawlessness.

The 15-nation council voted on the British plan for added sanctions Thursday morning. It calls for a panel of the Security Council, the U.N.'s most powerful body, to recommend people and entities whose financial assets would be frozen by nations.

Council members say the added sanctions, which exclude money intended for basic expenses like food and medicine, are intended to strengthen Somalia's weak U.N.-backed government.

The resolution also reaffirms the U.N.'s arms embargo against Somalia under resolutions since 1992.

excuse my sarcasm for believing that sanctions and freezing of accounts is going to stop these pirates. im glad it will leave some money there for the pirates to steal. unbelievable.

a more powerful country? really? thats why the current exchange rate is $1.00 for 10,530 Iran Rials. and 1.00 Euro for 12,730.03 Iran Rials. his administration has taken every bit of money they have made off of the high oil and gas prices and dumped into their nuclear program. i guess, having a strong nuclear program means power to him. not that his people are becoming impoverished. suffer one of the worst economies in the world. and live in fear of absolutely everything except just agreeing with him. They did impeach one of his guys though, so maybe they are getting tired of him over there as well. we can only hope. people in venezuela are getting tired of chavez as well. i love how both these men call themselves presidents. but do what they want. im president because i say i am, now shut up and eat your soup.

i guess i should have written this post first, but i got sidetracked by other things. so here it is now. i started this blog because i just wanted a space to write down things i thought and things ive observed. just opinions and everyone knows what opinions are like. so enjoy, or if you choose do not enjoy it. i dont expect you to agree with what i think and say, everyone has the right to be wrong if they so choose lol.

well, i first stumbled across this article last night. Sainthood eyed for Catholic Priest and it kinda got me mad. but i figured i'd sleep on it and it would go away. but it didn't. how long can people believe these things which are simply not biblical. there are a couple of statements i have a problem with here.

Then, three priests from the archdiocese will spend the coming years reviewing documents and examining witnesses who say they were healed after praying to Peyton.

People actually think, they were healed because they prayed to this man. Not because they prayed to Jesus, this man.

"He was always thinking of Mary and always promoting the rosary," Phalen said. "If you ever went in the car with him, you prayed the rosary with him."

Peyton's driving force in life was a belief that he was healed of tuberculosis after praying to Mary.

Again, complete nonsense. here are a few verses to dispell some that nonsense.

Acts 3:1-8

1Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
2And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
3Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
4And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
5And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

Notice he was healed by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth and rose up and walk. Not because of Peter and not because of John. because of Jesus. he didn't jump around and praise Peter and John. He praised Jesus.

John 14:6

6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Hey, imagine that. Nothing goes to the Father except through Jesus. That makes me think praying to anyone else is kinda comical. Unless you want nothing to happen. Then i say go ahead.

5For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

pretty much sums it up all right there. The saints can't intercede for you with God. Man can't intercede for you with God. Only Jesus Christ. Its not that hard to figure out. Although I do guess you have to pick up a bible and read it. i laugh cause people are ignorant, i'm also sad for the same reason.

I'm beginning to wonder how long we will keep dumping money into a completely worthless entity. The U.N. has historically done nothing and wasted tons of money doing it. They just got done paying $23 million for a mural on a ceiling of a new building. Really? $23 Million. It couldn't be done any cheaper. Or even yet. Did it have to be done at all. They are in the process of doing a $1.9 billion renovation of their New York headquarters and are looking to do a $1 billion upgrade to their European Headquarters. All this while they have between $2.9 billion to $4.9 billion in unfunded health care to past and present employees.
Here is the list of what they say are possible fixes

• Hitting up member states — which means the two-dozen or so, led by the U.S., that pay most of the U.N.'s assessment bills — to cough up the $2.4 billion in one mega-payment — and then pay $177 million more every two years to keep the debt from rising again;

• spreading the pain of debt reduction across 24 to 26 years, in $550 million increments, with even more additional dollops of cash till required to keep the system above water;

• slapping an additional payroll charge against U.N. employee salaries that would average roughly 13.8 percent per person, again, for decades.

i bet the last wouldn't happen in a million years. its not the employees responsibility to pay for health care and all. How else will they be able to afford their iphones and privately driven cars. And this is what everyone thinks we should model ourselves after. Why give them any money at all. They are so far in the hole with insurance, lets tack on another couple billion for renovations that probably aren't even necessary. I can't say enough how tired I am of these organizations sticking out their hand saying 'we need help, we can make our bills' instead of just not doing stupid stuff with their money. If I do stupid stuff with my money. I don't get to walk around asking for handouts. I guess i could. but I won't. I have something called Integrity. But who needs integrity when you can have free money.
